The short version

  • Where: The Rabbit Hole, 3048 Sashabaw Road, Waterford Township, Michigan.
  • What: an Owl & Twig booth in the expanded shop, now 52 vintage curators, artists and makers under one roof.
  • When: The Rabbit Hole is closed September 14 through 22 while the expansion is built out, and reopens Wednesday, September 23.
  • The catch: booth pieces are sold in the store only. They will not appear on Etsy or on this website.
  • How to keep up: follow @owlandtwigvintage on Instagram. That is where restocks get announced.

A booth at The Rabbit Hole in Waterford

The Rabbit Hole describes itself in three words: vintage, handmade, design. It is a multi-vendor shop, which means every booth is curated by a different person with a different eye, and a single lap through the room can take you from mid-century glass to a hand-thrown mug to something nobody can quite name. That is the appeal of a place like this, and it is why we wanted in.

The expansion doubles the shop's square footage. Twenty-three new vendors are moving in, several familiar ones are growing their spaces, and the total comes to 52. We are on the new lineup. When the doors reopen, you can walk up to our shelves, pick something up, turn it over and check the bottom.

Why the booth pieces stay offline

A piece on a shelf in Waterford and a piece in an online cart cannot be the same piece for long. List it in both places and sooner or later it sells twice, and someone gets an apology instead of a package. So the booth runs as its own inventory. What we bring to The Rabbit Hole stays at The Rabbit Hole until it goes home with someone.

There is a better reason, too. Some things make their case in person. The weight of a piece of pottery, the depth of a glaze, the way a lamp throws light in a room: a photograph gets close, and it is still a photograph. The booth is where those pieces belong.

Before you make the drive

Closed September 14–22 for the expansion. Regular hours after that:

  • Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Closed Monday and Tuesday

Hours are set by The Rabbit Hole, not by us. For holiday changes and events, check @therabbithole_waterford.

How to know when we restock

Follow us on Instagram. When the booth gets new stock, we post it there, and that is the only place we will announce it. Vintage does not come in cases of twelve. When a piece is gone, it is gone, and the people who see the post first are the ones who get a shot at it.

If you cannot get to Waterford, the online shop keeps going exactly as before, with its own separate stock. Browse what is available online.

Restocks at the booth are announced on Instagram first. Follow along, then come see it in person.

Pick things up. Turn them over. And if something in the booth stops you in your tracks, take it home that day, because it will not be waiting for you online.
